Shifting Winds

Today, the Gobi deserts climate change in wind patterns hit Japan. Yesterday, I was sweating still, but...not too bad, except for in the over-heated rooms on campus. The store electronics in temperatures that are above recommended while wearing winter wear. I can't begin to understand the obsession with being so hot all year round. It's not even slightly practical.

But today, TODAY, a cold wind out of Mongolia hit us hard and fast. it FELT like winter had arrived. And it has. Feels like Fall to me, but, it is, in fact, winter. Sudden, but, that's how it works here. We're getting air not from the tropics now, but instead from a jet stream similar to that of the Hudson Bay vortex, as far as power goes. But it's like how Arkansas feels it, not how Washington or Minnesota does. Apparently the weather will remain fairly stagnant now for about a month, with little or no change, then it will finally give way to real winter, right as I am leaving for REAL winter. Unless it's another pathetic year in the U.S. again.

In other news, my friend since all the way back in junior high (arguably maybe even elementary school) has confided in me that he is no longer a Republican and he is purchasing a Macintosh. Miracles do happen, maybe? I'll let you guess who in your own heads.
